The cooperation in this entire chain is extremely important in order to arrive at good functional products at the end.
Design and simulation: the evolution has ensured that we started designing differently, certainly within the high-tech industry. Computer development has ensured that we can use more and more suimulation software to arrive at more complete designs.
Here the evolution has brought us to industry 4.0, digitization. Computer development has increased the complexity of manufacturing machines extremely. What was not possible in the past can now be achieved.
These two items have grown with the complexity of manufacturing capabilities. Mheteasuring in the manufacturing machine to increase accuracy, but also more complex measurement options to be able to measure higher accuracy.
Software makes it possible to gain insight into the quality of the products made. It also enables us to see whether we need to adjust the manufacturing process in order to continue the processes or adjust it ourselves in such a way that quality can be increased.
Each branch is important in the entire chain to get from a design to a functional product. In the domestic time, these different branches are also situated within different companies, which makes cooperation very important.
The knowledge about the item within the various branches has increased because the techniques have become more complex.
That means to be effective in the chain, the chain must be closed. An incomplete link can seriously damage the outcome. Understanding each other and working together on that basis is therefore a requirement.
Understanding each task is important for efficient collaboration. We will therefore have to own part of the knowledge of another branch in order to be able to enter into cooperation.
Knowledge sharing is therefore where collaboration begins. However, this is not giving away your intellectual property but enough so that the other party can apply it properly.
The problem for our future is that due to a growth in complexity, we as an industry are growing apart. We are so focused on each of our dependent problems that we fall into the hole of compartmentalization, while it is very important to keep abreast of each other's development. We will therefore have to take time to transfer our basic knowledge to others so that applicability is guaranteed.
Complex techniques deserve the right attention in order to continue to be used efficiently.
This is only possible if we start to see that together, together we put our shoulders under it. Technology should become cool and sexy.
